Steam - a Cleaner Alternative?

An Australian man named Ted Pritchard designed a furnace-fired steam driven engine in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He then modified a 1963 Ford Falcon to use his steam system, and it turned out to be a fairly clean alternative to internal combustion.

Could this be a new way to power cars? Maybe someone should take a look at this system again.
