Photographs From the Other Side

An MG-34's assistant gunner scanning the ground in front with binoculars. The gun is on the tripod, but doesn't have the optical sight attached.

Panzer IV's with long-barreled 75mm guns in North Africa, late 1942-early 1943. This seems like a lot of tanks, but compared to the amount of British tanks, the Afrika Korps was hopelessly outnumbered.

A German motorcycle-side car combination in France in 1940.

The wing of an Me-323 Giant transport plane. Even with six engines (French engines I might add), performance was still rather inadequate. Notice the two defensive machine guns mounted in the wings.
