Luger Toggle Lock

A friend of mine showed me this. It is an excellent video (well, technically a .gif image) of the workings of a Luger pistol's toggle lock. When the pistol is fired, you can see the barrel and barrel extension sliding backwards, breaking the locked toggle open and allowing it to cycle. You can see an example of how this works fairly easily: with your leg. If you lock your knee, it is basically the same as a toggle lock. Until you put pressure pushing your knee up, there isn't much that can push hard enough to bend your leg.
