The Bang Bang Club is a movie about some South African photographers who documented the violence in South Africa between 1990 and 1994. As many may know, it was the end of the era of Apartheid, ending with the election of Nelson Mandela. What many may not know is the violence between the government police and the supporters of Nelson Mandela sparked an international outcry. The main reason it did that was because of the photographs of the incredible brutality. This movie shows not just the events, but also the people behind the lenses. It shows what being a combat photographer can do to someone. Do yourself a favor, watch it. It is on Netflix and I'm sure you can find it other places too. |
